Yin Yoga & Reiki: Open your heart

In this workshop with Alicia Casillas, we will take a look into the Energy Body model of the India Yogis, looking deeper into the Chakras and how to stimulate those important energy points into the body during the practice of Yin Yoga. This second series of workshop, the emphasis would be the heart chakra, working with arms, chest and spine to stimulate the heart center and cultivate the higher qualities of love, compassion, forgiveness, and kindness towards ourselves and others. Alicia will guide you through a sequence of Yin Yoga and meditation practice designed to bring awareness to our heart center. By drawing attention there, this practices will allow you to become aware of the energy flowing through this space, allowing ourselves to open up to give and receive love, cultivating gratitude and joy within ourselves. I’m so excited to teach at WonderLove Festival in Kuala Lumpur on the 9th of March 2019. This Yin class would allow you to go deep within yourself. Breath deeply, relax your body and take the time to sink into the opening within each asana. It will calm you down immensely and leave you feeling grounded and entered in your body. Yin Yoga is a mindful practice that targets the connective tissue of the hips, pelvis, chest and the spine where we usually hold lots of tension and stress. Yin postures are held for three to five minutes which gives the body an opportunity to open and release tension from deeper tissues. We live in a extremely yang world where we are constantly doing, moving, and stressing out systems without having time to rest, relax and simply be. This class allows you to tap into your yin energy inviting you to surrender, let go and nourish your body, mind and soul.

Yin practice is a more meditative approach to yoga, bringing our focus more inwards and allowing ourselves to go deeper into the body. When we relax and let go of our physical bodies, we can start releasing emotions that are stuck and unprocessed. These feelings can manifest as tension and stress, which Yin helps to release. The practice will help promote optimum health and balance for your both your external and internal systems. Some of the other benefits of Yin include deepening self awareness, facilitating deep relaxation, calming the central nervous system, increasing energy flow, mental clarity, inspiring self exploration and enlightening inner silence and peace.
